
OVERVIEW
This guide will help you set up an ABB robot controller for use with Forge/OS 5.
This guide assumes that you have installed the ABB robot and controller following ABB
instructions. Make sure the robot and controller are in working order before moving on. Check
whether the ABB controller options and software version meet Forge/OS requirements.
After confirming ABB software options, you can follow this guide. You will follow these steps:
1. Set up ABB safety I/O modules.
2. Connect the KEBA pendant safety features to the safety I/O modules.
3. Connect the ABB controller to your Forge hub.
4. Power up your systems.
5. Install and set up Forge/OS.
6. Get robot configuration files from Forge/OS.
7. Connect to the ABB controller with Robot Studio and configure for Forge/OS.
8. Add the robot in Forge/OS
9. Control your ABB robot with Forge/OS!
Note:
We recommend backing up your ABB controller. You can save a backup before starting
by following ABB instructions or you can save a backup using RobotStudio later in this guide.
