In a SeaTalk

system, components are connected to the SeaTalk
ng
backbone cable
using spur cables.
•
Spur cables should be kept short to keep components as close to the backbone as
possible.
•
The ST70 autopilot controller is supplied with a 400mm spur cable, which may be
extended if necessary. However, it is preferable to extend the backbone so the
connection point is within 400mm of the location of the controller.
•
The SPX SmartPilot is connected to the backbone using a plug-in cable (sup-
plied).
•
Instruments can be connected via spur cables or daisy-chained together on a bus.
•
The SeaTalk
ng
backbone cable is available as part of a standard kit.
