E-Series Networked Display Reference Manual

Distinguishing between fixed and moving objects

You can overlay radar image data over your chart image allowing better distinction
between fixed objects and other marine traffic. For best results, switch on Radar-Chart
synchronization (see

page 90

) to ensure radar range and chart scale are synchronized.

To switch radar overlay on:

1. Select radar overlay:

Note:

If you have a Digital radar connected to your system and Dual Range is set to

‘ON’ the overlay is temporarily disabled. The ‘Overlay’ status indicator is shown in pa-
renthesis ‘( )’, but the soft key remains set to ON.To re-enable Overlay, disengage dual
range.

The default soft keys change to give access to some of the radar options and if a
radar is connected, the radar image will be overlaid on the chart e.g.
