5.7 GPS Control
The QUANTRON-A control unit can be combined with GPS-compatible devices.
Various data are exchanged between both devices to automate the control.
The OptiPoint function (AXIS only) calculates the optimal switch-on and switch-
off point for spreading in the headland based on the settings in the control unit;
see
4.6.9: Calculate OptiPoint (AXIS only), page 53 .
The A symbol next to the spreading wedges indicates that the automatic function
is activated. The control unit opens and closes the individual section widths de-
pending on the respective position in the field. Spreading work only starts when
you press
Start/Stop .
NOTICE
We recommend using our CCI 800 control unit in combination with the
QUANTRON-A.


NOTICE
Serial communication must be activated to use the GPS Control functions of the
QUANTRON-A.

Activate the GPS Control sub-menu item in the menu System/Test >
Data transmission .
NOTICE
If additional application maps are used, serial communication must be activated.

In the menu System/Test > Data transmission , activate the GPS Control
+ VRA sub-menu item.
The target quantity from the application map from the GPS terminal is then
automatically processed in the QUANTRON-A.

WARNING
Risk of injury due to ejected fertiliser!
The GPS Control function starts the spreading operation automat-
ically, without warning. Escaping fertiliser can cause injuries to
the eyes and nasal mucous membranes. There is also a risk of
slipping.

Ensure that nobody is present in the danger zone during
spreading.
