SECTION 13: VENTING - MULTIBURNER SYSTEMS
13.1 General Re
q uirements
See Page 53, Section 11.1 . All general venting
req u irements apply.
13.2 Manifold Tube Re q uirements
Manifold t u be is u sed to connect radiant t u bing to the
p u mp. When more than one b u rner is connected to a
p u mp, a special connection fitting is u tilized, s u ch as
a cross or tee section. See Page 58, Figure 28 . It is
recommended that 4'' (10.2 cm) O.D. or 6'' (15.2 cm)
O.D. al
u minized or coated t u bing be u sed for
manifold pipe. Reflectors are not req u ired, b u t may
be u sed over 4'' (10.2 cm) manifold pipe. Manifold
pipe m u st be s u pported properly, w ith at least one
hanger per 10' (3 m) section. Refer to Page 30,
Section 9 for manifold length design req u irements.
13.3 Venting the Pump
The exha u st connection from the p u mp is 4'' (10.2
cm) or 6'' (15.2 cm) diameter. Connect one of the
flexible isolation boots provided to the fl
u e pipe.
Connections to the fl u e pipe larger than the p u mp
o u tlet diameter w ill req u ire the u se of an appropriate
adapter (not s u pplied).
Venting from the p u mp may discharge either
horizontally or vertically; corrosion resistant pipe is
req
u ired. See Page 60, Figure 30 for p u mp vent
length req u irements.
The layo u t dra w ing sho w s the general location of the
p u mp. Specific p u mp location and discharge details
m u st meet general venting req u irements (see Page
53, Section 11 and Page 58, Section 13.1 ) as w ell as
the follo w ing criteria:
• To avoid staining the b u ilding w all, extend
discharge 3' (1 m) from the b u ilding if possible.
• Horizontal discharge is preferred, see Page 60,
Figure 30 . Vertical discharge m u st be arranged
as sho w n. See Page 59, Figure 29 .
If the vent pipe is over 20' (6 m) long, ins u late it to
minimize condensation. Seal all discharge pipe joints
w ith high-temperat u re silicone or eq u ivalent.
