6.3 Torque Limiter (Refer to
Figure 11
)
The hoist is equipped with a torque limiter that is located in the gearbox assembly. The torque limiter is a
safety device that prevents lifting excessive loads that may damage to the hoist. The torque limiter is a
friction type slip clutch that couples the motor to the gear train.
Torque Limiter Adjustment (Refer to Figure 11)
1. Remove three-sided branding panel.
2. Use two small straight-slot screwdrivers and remove plastic cap from center of gearbox cover.
3. Loosen locking screw (item 16).
4. Use a 46mm socket to turn the adjusting nut (item 15).
5. Turn clockwise to increase torque setting
6. Turn counter-clockwise to decrease torque setting
7. Set limiter equal to or 5 percent less than 125 percent of nameplate capacity.
8. Tighten locking screw (item 16).
9. Replace plastic cap.
10. Replace three-sided branding panel.
