FITTING INSTRUCTIONS
FITTING INSTRUCTIONS
•
To fit the R&G tail tidy, lift the seat using the key and release button.
•
Remove the two plastic covers on the handrail on the left side of the bike, as arrowed in picture
1, and remove the two bolts underneath. Remove the handrail from the bike.
•
Remove the rubber panel adjoining the rear panels to gain access to the bolts underneath, as
shown in picture 2.
•
Using a 5mm hex key, remove the bolts from the LHS side mid-fairing panel as shown in
pictures 3 & 4.
•
Gently pull the panel away from the bike to disengage the locating pins from the rubber
grommet mounts and remove the panel as shown in picture 5.
•
Using a cross head screwdriver, remove the two screws shown in pictures 6 & 7.
•
Now remove the 4 push pins from inside of the luggage area by depressing the centre pin and
removing the plastic expander as shown in picture 8.
•
Remove 2 more push pins from the underside of the panel hidden beneath the fairing as shown
in picture 9.
•
Ensure all retaining clips and fasteners are removed and remove this panel carefully, noting the
plastic tab at the rear of the panel which should be released from the adjacent bodywork, this
will reveal the wiring for the OEM tail unit as shown in picture 10.
•
Disconnect the 4 connectors shown in picture 11 and cut any cable ties securing the tail unit
wiring to the bike.
•
While supporting the tail unit Remove the 4 x hex bolts in the underside of the OEM tail unit as
shown in picture 12.
•
Remove the OEM tail unit from the bike ensuring to pass the wiring through the opening in the
LHS of the bike and remove completely.
If fitting OEM Indicators
•
Start off by removing the OEM indicators from the OEM licence plate hanger. Remove the
electrical tape as shown in picture 13 to separate the wires.
•
For each indicator:
o
Remove the plastic piece from the rubber mount of the indicator. As shown in picture 14.
With this removed, remove the fastening screw from the indicator as shown in picture
15.
o
Pull the rubber mount of the plastic hole and the plastic locator and feed the indicator
and wiring clear of the OEM licence plate hanger as shown in picture 16.
o
Fit each indicator to the R&G indicator bracket by feeding the indicator wiring through
the large hole on the licence plate bracket and locate the rubber with the hole, before
refitting the plastic plate to secure in place, as shown in picture 17.
o
Locate one of the OEM indicator adaptors (
item 6
–
I0037) over the runner mount of the
OEM indicator to properly fix the indicator in place as shown in picture 18.
If fitting Mini Indicators
(Please note during this process the OEM indicators will need to be cut to retain the original
connectors.)
•
To fit the R&G Mini Indicators, fit one length of heat-shrink to the wires of each indicator.
•
Feed the wiring of either indicator through the hole in one of the mini indicator adaptors (
item
5
–
I0016
), ensuring the raised boss on the adaptors face away from the indicator.
