3. REva mother board
3.8 Analog area
This area groups features that allow the user to validate the analog features of a target microcontroller.
The REva RF 'ZigBee' does not provide the same peripheral set as the standard REva board.
3.8.1 Features (standard REva up to v2.10)
●
1 four-position analog connector, including:
•
two analog inputs that can be connected directly to the ADC input pins of the
microcontroller,
•
one analog output resulting from the integration of a PWM output. The integration is done
with a simple RC filter with a characteristic time of 100 ms,
•
one ground connection.
●
1 potentiometer, that can be connected directly to the ADC input pins of the microcontroller.
●
1 temperature sensor, that can be connected directly to the ADC input pins of the microcontroller.
The output voltage of this sensor is given by the formula V=0,01(T+1).
●
5 jumpers enabling
the
independent use of each of these features. Use of any of the analog features is
possible only when the corresponding jumper is set.
3.8.2 Limitations
The output voltage of the temperature sensor is a function of the temperature. This means that past a
given threshold, depending on the power supply voltage, the measure cannot be accurate. This threshold
is approximately 30°C for a 3.3V power supply and 50°C for a 5V power supply.
The temperature sensor does not operate at 1.8V.
3.8.3 Features (REva RF 'ZigBee', v2.1Z)
●
1 four-position analog connector, including:
•
two analog inputs that can be connected directly to the ADC input pins of the
microcontroller,
•
one ground connection,
•
the last position is unused.
●
1 potentiometer, that can be connected directly to the ADC input pins of the microcontroller.
●
1 buzzer, that is connected to the PWM output pin of the microcontroller through a 4,7k
Ω
serial
resistor,
●
4 jumpers enabling
the
independent use of each of these features. Use of any of the analog features is
possible only when the corresponding jumper is set.
