Placement of the Speakers
In your car there are many locations to install Rainbow loudspeakers. However you should pay attention
to the following facts: Your Experience-Line coaxial loudspeakers need a certain volume for the
reproduction of basses. A rear package shelf with a large boot or doors with a large insulating air
cushion are ideal. Please check the suitability of the installation places
before you start installation
.
Don't cut any of the car's structural frame. Pay attention to the mechanism of the windows and door
handles. If installed in the rear, be sure that the filler neck and the petrol tank are not damaged.
Do not
cut or damage cables and wires
that are run hidden in your car. The loudspeaker grilles can help you
to find a suitable installation place by using them as templates on the doors or the rear package shelf. If
you have experience with electrical and mechanical procedures, you can install Rainbow loudspeakers
on your own.
In-Door Installation
To get a good front-staging the coaxial loudspeaker must be placed so that the tweeters radiate in ear
direction. To get a kickbass the whole door volume must be strengthened. Cut the interior foil of the door
covering around the installation place of the woofer and fasten it in order to prevent its vibration. It is also
very important that the area around the woofer is sealed in order to avoid acoustic short circuits.
The sound deadening of the door panel can help to improve the sound. Use noise-damping material.
Should the door covering vibrate it must be reinforced. If this is not possible you can achieve noise
rejection by using foamed material.
Dashboard Installation
Before you start installation you should cover the installation place in the dashboard loosely with
polyester fabric or mineral wool. Thus you get a better bass reproduction.
Installation into Rear Package Shelf
The rear window reflects and increases the reproduction of trebles (shrill and piercing) and the headrests
attenuate the reproduction of high frequencies too much. Arrange the loudspeakers centred between
rear window and headrests into the very right and left side. This is important for the stereophony. Should
the rear package shelf vibrate it must be reinforced or attenuated.
Installation and Mounting EL-X69
Remove the door panel or other coverings (according to the installation place). Plug the sheet metal nuts
(

) according to the picture onto the door sheet metal. See
fig. 1
Link the loudspeaker with the loudspeaker cable adapter and
pay attention for the correct polarity!
Put the loudspeaker in the loudspeaker opening and fix with the included screws (
T
).
The loudspeaker installation will be effected in the factory provided installation places on the left and
right side of the dashboard. See
fig. 1.
Lift the covering ledge on the loudspeaker grille carefully with a small screwdriver and remove it.
Loosen the two screws on the grille and remove it. In case the loudspeaker opening is still covered with
foil, then cut the foil with a sharp knife to the size of the loudspeaker. Cut the original-connector off and
replace it with the included connectors (4,8/6,3mm) or use adapter connector.
Attention: Make sure that the same polarity is on both loudspeakers.
