WINDING
Your watch will work better if it is fully wound. It will benefit from more energy
to activate the calibre parts, will have full power reserve and will be more accu-
rate. The precision of a mechanical self-winding movement will wary according to
the wearer’s habits. Raidillon watches’ accuracy fluctuates between – 5 and +15
seconds per day.
Automatic winding up
(fully depressed crown)
Your wrist’s natural movements automatically wind up your Raidillon watch, which
has a 40-hour power reserve. Manual winding up is only necessary if you don’t
wear your watch/chronograph for several days.
Manual winding up
Winding up is carried out on the 1st position (unscrew the crown as shown in the
diagram on page 15) by holding the crown between the thumb and the index
and rotating it towards the dial’s midday mark (if the winding up is carried out
counter-clockwise, the movement won’t be affected). Generally, thirty crown
spins are necessary to wind up a watch. There is no risk of over-winding a watch:
a specific system, referred to as a slipping spring, prevents the barrel spring from
jamming and there is therefore no risk of breaking a mechanical part.
Monthly winding up
We recommend a fully manually winding up of your watch at least once per
month.
