to practice the operation with a scrap materialfirst.
•
Tighten the Release Valve (4) of the bottle jack with the slotted end of the Handle (B) by
turning clockwise.
•
Insert the handle into the Pump Sleeve (5). Now the pipe can be bent py pumping the
handle up and down.
•
When the pipe has been bent to the desired angle, use the slotted end of the handle to
loosen the release valve by turning counterclockwise. The pipe will be released from the
pipe bender and can be taken out.
9. MAINTENANCE.
•
Always inspect the general condition of the pipe before operating. Check for broken,
cracked or bent parts, loose or missing parts, and any condition that may affect the proper
operation of the tool. If a problem occurs, have the problem corrected before further use.
•
Always carefully test the Hydraulic Bottle jack (H) for proper operation prior to its actual
use. If the bottle jack does not work properly, follow the instructions stated in the section of
“BLEED THE BOTTLE JACK” in this manual.
•
Clean the tool by using a soft cloth dampened with a mild detergent or solvent and wipe
dry.
10. BLEED THE BOTTLE JACK
•
Loosen the Release Valve (4) of the bottle jack with the handle.
•
Remove the Oil Filler Plug (3) and top up the bottle jack with hydraulic oil. The oil level
should be even with the bottom level of the hole. NOTE: MAKE SURE THE BOTTLE JACK
ALWAYS STANDS IN AN UPRIGHT POSITIN WHEN FILLING.
•
Apply pressure to the Saddle (1) and rapidly pump the handle several times.
•
Replace the oil fi ller plug to the bottle jack and safely tighten the release valve.
•
The jack should be tested several times for proper operation before further use. If the jack
still does not work properly after that, the tool must not be used until it has been repaired
by a qualifi ed technician.
11. CHANGE THE HYDRAULIC OIL
Warning! Only use products labelled “hydraulic jack oil.” Do not use brake, transmission fluids
or penetrating oils as they can damage the seals of the tool.
Change the hydraulic oil for the tool at least once every three years according to the following
procedures:
1. Entirely lower the bottle jack, then remove the oil fi ller plug.
2. Tilt the pipe bender so that the old hydraulic oil can drain out completely of the bottle jack.
Please note that the disposal of the old hydraulic oil should be performed in accordance with
local regulations. After that, fi ll the bottle jack with high-quality hydraulic jack oil (not included)
until the oil begins to run out of the hole.
3. The oil fi ller plug can be put back onto the bottle jack.
12. MAINTENANCE.
•
Warning! Never clean or lubricate the tool with penetrating oils, as this kind of oil is a
solvent which will break down the internal grease and cause the tool to seize up.
•
Properly and regularly lubricate the pipe bender to ensure a better performance and to
prevent components of the tool from wearing out prematurely.
•
Use ONLY recommended lubricant while performing lubrication to the tool. Otherwise the
rubber parts of the tool will be damaged.
13. STORAGE.
•
Lower the Ram (2) to the lowest position.
•
A generous amount of lubricant should be applied to the tool before storing it for a long
