• If you entered an invalid frequency in Step 4,

appears and the scanner beeps error tone.
Enter a valid frequency.
•If you entered the frequency which already exist on other channel in step 4, the scanner beeps error
tone and displays that channel. Press

/CLR /DELAY
to exit the programming mode, or press
E/PGM
to store the frequency to both channels.
• The scanner automatically rounds the entered number to the nearest valid frequency. For example,
if you enter 151.473 (MHz), your scanner accepts it as 151.475.
Channel display is automatically set to on. If you want off, press

/CLR /DELAY
(see “Drop Delay” on Page
xx). The scanner stores this setting in the channel.
6. To program the next channel in sequence, press

▼
and repeat Steps 4 and 5.
COPY/MOVE CHANNEL
If you want to copy/move a frequency to a channel, follow the steps below:
1. Press and hold
E/PGM
during program mode. Scanner displays copy/move menu.
2.
Press

or
▼
to select the copy or move, then press
E/PGM
to decide copy or move.
3.
Select the bank where you want to copy/move the frequency. The smallest empty channel number and “000.0000”
flashes on and off over the frequency you want to store.
4.
Press
▲
or
▼
to move to the channel where you wish to store the frequency.
5. Press
E/PGM
to enter the frequency, and return to the program mode.
6.
Pressing
・
/CLR /DELAY
cancels the programming. If there is no empty channel, the scanner automatically selects the
first channel of the bank.
SEARCHING FOR AND TEMPORARILY STORING ACTIVE FREQUENCIES
If you do not have a reference to frequencies in your area, use a chain, direct, or service search (except weather
search) to find a transmission. Also see “Guide to the Action Bands” on Page XX.
Note:
While doing a chain, direct, or service bank search, press:

DELAY
if you want to turn the delay on or off (see “Drop Delay” on Page XX).
•
MENU
if you want the scanner to skip data signals (such as fax or modem signals) and search only for
audio (voice) signals, enter the menu mode and turn Data Skip Option to off (see “Skipping Data
Signals” on Page XX).
Chain Search
A chain search lets you search within a specific range of frequencies.
