Note: Connecting an AC or DC adapter automatically disconnects
all batteries.

1. If necessary, set the adapter’s voltage switch to 3V.

2. Connect the Adaptaplug adapter to the AC adapter.

3. Plug the adapter into your radio’s 

DC 3V

 jack.

4. Plug the other end of the AC adapter into a standard AC out-

let (or the DC adapter into the vehicle’s cigarette lighter
socket).

Note: If the radio does not power up properly from DC power,
unplug the adapter from the cigarette-lighter socket and clean
the socket to remove ashes and debris.

USING EARPHONES/HEADPHONES

To listen to the radio privately, connect
an earphone or headphone with a

inch (3.5-mm) plug to 

 (earphone/

headphone) jack beneath the rubber
flap on the side of the radio. Plugging in
an earphone or headphone disconnects
the internal speaker.

Listening Safely

To protect your hearing, follow these guidelines when you use an
earphone or headphone. 

• Set the volume to the lowest setting before you begin listen-

ing. After you begin listening, adjust the volume to a comfort-
able level.
