3.3  Boiler room 
 

Boiler room must be secured against freezing

.

 

 
The support surface of the boiler in the boiler room must be of non-combustible material. 
Recommended distance of all four sides of the boiler in relation to the boiler walls or other solid 
body (water heater, etc.. ) are shown in 

Figure 9

. These values allow a safe distance access 

when firing, sufficient space for cleaning and easy access to fan and valve for filling and 
emptying. Boiler at its left hand side should be away from the wall 100 to 200 mm i.e. as much 
as needed for the connection of valves for thermal safety by over flow. If the valve is not to be 
installed then the space can be smaller. The  flap handle for firing  is removable and can be 
placed either on the left or right side of the boiler. The space on the right side of the boiler, which 
is recommended to be at least 800mm from the silo is important because after cleaning the boiler 
the user then goes and pulls out the ashtray from the back of the firebox. Boiler room must have
