4 Operations Overview
This chapter provides general instructions for using the RB-2X Bantam Plus Portable Test
System and contains the following sections:

4.1 Initializing the Bantam Plus
4.1.1 Powering on the unit
To Power up the Bantam Plus using the Shop Power Cord:
1.
Ensure the ON/OFF Breaker Switch on the rear panel is in the OFF position.
2.
Connect the green ground wire coming from the Shop Power Cord through the ground
terminal and tighten down the terminal. Make sure the ground cable is secure before
continuing.
3.
Plug the two black banana plugs coming from the Power Cord into the banana sockets
on the rear panel of the Bantam Plus.
Live and Neutral orientation is not important as
supplies are fully isolated and fused on both neutral
and live.
4.
Insert the plug end of the Shop Power Cord into a 90V-300V grounded outlet. When
switched ON the software will automatically launch. Since the internal PC will have to
boot up, it may take a few seconds for the unit to launch the control application.
4.1.2 Powering on the unit in the field
In the field you can use the Field Power Cord and Field Safety Ground Cable to draw
power directly from the meter test switch. To do so:
1.
Open all the test switches.
2.
Make sure the potential is between 90 and 300 volts
3.
Connect the green Field Safety Ground Cable through the ground terminal and
tighten down the terminal. Make sure the ground cable is secure before continuing.
