37.4 Clock Speeds
37.4.1 Recommended Clock/Memory Configurations
Table 37-8 describes some recommended clock and memory configurations for both 8-bit and 16-bit exter-
nal memory devices in the 10-70ns access time range.
To calculate the required number of Wait states for a given memory access time and a known CPU clock
frequency, use the following formula (round the result up to the next integer):
Wait states = ((memory access time + 10nS)/(CPU clock cycle time)) - 2
