2.3 HIGH VOLTAGE POWER SUPPLY
A) THREEPHASE VERSION
This sub-assembly (P2 fig.8A) is situated at the bottom of the unit
and comprises: a transformer T2 (5 Fig.8A) to supply the anode voltage
(6KV); a line supply terminal block (MORS1) to which are connected the
three phases (1 Fig.8A); a driver terminal block (MORS2) for the driver
connections (2 Fig.8A); a filter capacitor (C3) for the anode supply (6
Fig.8A); a diode bridge (D3, D4, D5, D6, D7 and D8) for rectifying the
anode supply (3 Fig.8A).
Other components are situated on the diode bridge support: four resistors
(R10, R11, R12 and R13) for descharging the high voltage capacitors (4
Fig.8A).
The filament transformer is fixed on the external left-hand side part
of the cavity near the tuning motors.
B) MONOPHASE VERSION
This sub-assembly (P2 Fig.8C) is situated at the bottom of the unit
and comprises: a transformer T2 (5 Fig.8C) to supply the anode voltage
(6KV); a line supply terminal block (MORS1) to which are connected
the two phases (1 Fig.8C); a driver terminal block (MORS2) for the driver
connections (3 Fig.8C); two filter capacitors (C2 and C3) for the anode
supply (6 Fig.8C); a diode bridge (D3, D4, D5, D6, D7 and D8) for
rectifying the anode supply (3 Fig.8C). Other components are situated
on the diode bridge support: four resistors (R10, R11, R12 and R13) for
descharging the high voltage capacitors (4 Fig.8C); an impedance (L9)
on the high voltage.
The filament transformer is fixed on the external left-hand side part
of the cavity near the tuning motors.
2.4 PROTECTION CARD
The protection card has three balanced inputs for the measurement
of currents IA, IG and one not connected; two unbalanced inputs for the
measurement of direct and reflected (SWR) power; a sensor input for
temperature measurement and four other inputs: insufficient A.C. line
voltage; Interlock; pressure low (PRESS) and High Voltage low (H.V.).
A card within this module contains all the trimmers necessary for
adjustment of operating parameters and calibration of the meters.
These trimmers are already factory set however, should adjustment be
necessary, please refer to Table H..
An internal battery maintains memorized data in the event of a power
failure.
This allows data that has been stored prior to an event that required
the invention of the protection circuit, to be accessed by simply
reconnection power to the unit.
The protection system works in the following manner: in the case of
a fault or anomalous condition, the unit is disabled; after 30 seconds
