4 ENHANCEMENTS AND NEW FUNCTIONALITY
•
Updated documentation covering all operations in better detail for both Mac and
PC operating systems is available on the Quantum web site.
•
FTP Client window now scales to fill any browser window size allowing longer
and wider list views.
•
A new transfer Summary panel has been added and whenever a transfer has
completed, the applet switches to this panel with complete information about
how many files and what size transferred. Details about any file(s) which did not
transfer are also reported.
•
Drives now advertise on the users’ network using Bonjour. In addition to directly
typing the IP address of the drive, users can access it from the Safari Bonjour
listing or by typing
hostname
.local. where hostname is the name given to the
drive in the Setup > Hostname (bonjour version will be all lower case) followed
by “.local.” (consult the manual for more details)
Note:
Bonjour may take 1-2 hours to re-appear after a drive reboot.
•
Fixed problems copying certain types and names of files have been fixed – there
are now no issues making archives of:
o
Mac Applications
o
Directories and files beginning with a period or ending with a space or
period
o
UTF-8 character encoding is now the default to handle more languages
o
It is now possible to archive and restore files with unusual characters
such as percents, slashes, line feeds, etc.
Note:
File names still may not exceed 97 characters, any files with
longer names will be skipped and reported as such.
•
Fixed problems resetting LTO-3A systems to default system parameter settings
and IP address. A revised reset procedure is included in the manual
•
Fixed a number of issues which could cause corruption or loss of information in a
tape’s directory
Note:
When selecting Disconnect or ejecting a tape, the drive will
update redundant copies of the Table of Contents to assure data
integrity and this may take up to 6 minutes (normally 1 to 3
minutes) and should not be interrupted
