To retrieve your activity data:

1.

Connect your GPS to your PC and open the motion user software.

2.

Press the download activity data button.

3.

Select the folder location where you would like to save your file and press save. If
there are several thousand pages of motion data it will take some time to
download. Each page of data contains roughly 62 lines of data. The program may
appear to stop working but it is in fact downloading your data into a file. If the
GPS unit’s memory is filled with data it may take up to 30 minutes to download
the activity data.

Note

: The software auto generates the same name for every download of activity

data. If you do not want to save over old data it is highly recommended that you
change the name of the old file before saving it.

To view your data double click on the saved file and it will open in notepad.

4.4 Troubleshooting a wireless connection

Quantum Base Station
Remote Download Option

While remote downloading has been tested up to 400 meters, its practical range will vary
greatly based on your environment. The remote download option uses a UHF frequency
to transmit the data. This frequency requires a line of sight, which means if you can hear
the animal wearing your collar but cannot see the animal you may be unable to achieve a
remote download.

Equipment

Three-element Yagi (optional)

The three-element Yagi has been tested in dense environments up to 450 meters. It has a
wide focus area which allows it to get around many obstacles. It is available as a welded
antenna for aerial downloads and as a collapsible model for ground downloads.

Environment

Your environment will control almost all of the variables in your remote download. If
you are having difficulties connecting to your collar or pod your only option is to
establish a line of sight. This may mean getting closer or gaining elevation to peer over
any obstacles.
