1. Using Griddle Handle
Attach griddle handle to receiver button by sliding
handle in a left to right motion ensuring that the handle
is securely engaged

2. Lift griddle handle to open the cast griddle lid. Leave
griddle handle in place when in open position

3. Closing Cast Griddle Lid
Use griddle handle to carefully close cast griddle lid,
remove griddle handle and store on handle storage
hanger

H. Correct Baffle & Blanket Placement
Rear baffle plate and board in proper
position
Make sure the rear baffle plate and board are all the way
back inside the firebox as shown in
Figure 14.1

WARNING
Fire Risk.
Firebox damage due to improper baffle
placement is not covered by warranty. Operate
the wood burning appliance with the baffle in
the correct position only.
Not doing so could result in:
•
Reduced efficiency
• Overheating the chimney
•
Overheating the rear of the firebox
• Poor performance
Ensure correct baffle placement and replace
baffle components if damaged or missing.
The baffle boards are FRAGILE. Use extreme caution
when loading firewood to prevent:
•
Cracking, breaking or damaging the baffle boards
DO NOT operate the appliance without baffle boards
CAUTION
Injury Risk.
• Cast griddle top is heavy.
•
When griddle top is open; pinch points exist.
• Keep body parts away from pinch points.
CAUTION
Fire Risk.
• Do not leave top load lid open unless loading
for fuel
