7. TROUBLESHOOTING

There is rust on the metal
parts of the appliance.
The descaler used was
not suitable for espresso
machines. The descaler
was too strong and
corroded the metal parts.
Use a commercially
available descaler
suitable for espresso
machines.
Water leaks from the
bottom of the espresso
machine.
The drip tray is full. Empty and clean the drip
tray regularly.
Malfunction in the
appliance.
Unplug the appliance
and contact your nearest
authorised service centre
to arrange a repair.
Water leaks from the
sides of the filter.
There are coffee grounds
around the rim of the
filter.
Remove loose coffee
grounds around the rim of
the filter before inserting
the portafilter onto the
brew head.
The filter is overfilled. Do not fill coffee grounds
above the rim of the filter.
Fill coffee grounds evenly
and level with the rim of
the filter, and then tamp
the coffee grounds with
the tamper.
The portafilter is not
properly locked into the
brew head.
Ensure the portafilter is
properly inserted into
the brew head in the
“INSERT” position, and
then turn the handle to
the right until it reaches
the “LOCKED” position.
