Referring to figure 6, scribe or mark the nut at the 6 o’clock position.

While holding the fitting body steady with a backup wrench or vise, tighten the
nut as follows, depending on the size of the tube fitting:
• For fittings larger than 3/16 inch
, turn the fitting one and one quarter turns
(watch the scribe mark make one complete turn, then continue to the 3 o’clock
position).
• For fittings sizes 1/6, 1/8, and 3/16 inch
, turn the fitting three quarters of a turn
(watch the scribe mark turn to the 9 o’clock position).
Note:
These are guidelines, you may need to further tighten the nut.
