OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL
PYD SERIES SOLAR INVERTER
27
2. GENERAL PRECAUTIONS
2.1 Motor insulation test
Perform the insulation test when the motor is used for the first time, or when it is reused after long
storage, or at a periodic check, to prevent poor insulation of the motor windings from damaging the
frequency inverter. . The motor must be disconnected from the frequency converter during the insula-
tion test. A 500 V megohmmeter is recommended for the test. The insulation resistance must not be
less than 5 MΩ.
2.2 Thermal motor protection
If the rated capacity of the selected motor does not match that of the frequency converter, especially
when the rated power of the frequency converter is higher than that of the motor, adjust the motor pro-
tection parameters on the frequency converter operation panel or install a thermal relay in the motor
circuit for protection.
2.3 Operating above 50 Hz
The frequency converter provides a frequency output from 0 to 3200 Hz with V / F mode (300 Hz is
compatible with the frequency converter running in FVC and SVC mode). If the motor is required to
operate at more than 50 Hz, consider the machine’s withstand capability.
2.4 Mechanical device vibration
The frequency inverter may encounter the mechanical resonance point at some output frequency
points, which can be avoided by setting the skip frequency.
2.5 Motor heat and noise
The output of the frequency inverter is a pulse width modulation (PWM) wave with certain harmonic
frequencies and therefore the temperature, noise and vibration of the motor are slightly higher than
those operating at mains frequency (50 Hz).
2.6 Voltage sensitive device/capacitor on the output side of the frequency converter
Do not install the power factor enhancement capacitor or the lightning protection voltage sensitive
resistor on the output side of the frequency inverter because the output of the frequency inverter is a
PWM wave. Otherwise, the frequency inverter may suffer transient overcurrent and even be damaged.
