INTERIOR EQUIPMENT
8.1 Cabin and V-Berth
Companionway Door
The cabin and V-berth are accessed through a sliding door. The door slides on a top and bottom track. A
lockable latch secures the door in the closed position. There is a special hook on the bulkhead next to the door
to secure it in the open position. It is very important that the cabin door is secured properly in the open or
closed position. The door is made of acrylic plastic glass. Acrylic glass scratches easily and can chip. Please
refer to the Routine Maintenance chapter for information on the proper care and maintenance of acrylic plastic
glass.
NEVER LEAVE THE CABIN DOOR UNLATCHED. THE CABIN DOOR IS HEAVY AND
SLIDES EASILY. IF THE DOOR IS LEFT UNLATCHED, IT COULD SLIDE UNEXPECT-
EDLY AS THE BOAT ROCKS, DAMAGING THE DOOR OR CAUSING AN INJURY TO A
PASSENGER. ALWAYS MAKE SURE THE DOOR IS PROPERLY LATCHED IN THE OPEN
OR CLOSED POSITION.
Companionway Step
The companionway step is removable to allow access to the forward bilge. To remove the step, lift straight
up out of the brackets and pull the steps forward. Always make sure the steps are properly secured before
using.
Cabin and V-Berth
A storage compartment and fresh water sink that drains overboard are located in the cabin. Water to the sink
is supplied by the fresh water system.
The V-berth in the cabin is equipped with removable cushions and storage below the center V-berth cushion.
There also is a storage shelf on each side of the V-berth and rod holders. The access door to the holding tank,
head system seacocks and forward bilge pump are located at the rear of the cabin below the companionway
door.
Daylight and fresh air are provided to the cabin by an overhead opening hatch. Additional lighting is provided
by individually controlled 12-volt lights.
There is an access panel in the cabin above the breaker panel and sink that provides service access to the rear
of the helm. There are positive and negative terminals in this area for the addition of future electronics.
