Delivery head
These starting and operating instructions are applicable to electric
submersible sludge pumps specified on the cover. The pumps are
intended for pumping water that may contain abrasive particles.
Limitations
Immersion depth: up to 10 m (33ft).
Liquid temperature: up to 40°C (105°F).
Pump variants
Example of type designation:
KV 54 W
W = Single-phase
= 3-phase
Motor
Single-phase AC motor or 3-phase squirrel-cage induction motor for 50 or
60 Hz. Degree of protection IP 68.
Level control
Some pumps can be equipped with float switch for automatic level control.
Motor protection
Built-in starting and running capacitor (applies only to single-phase
version). Built-in motor protection consisting of a contactor and a
temperature sensor in each stator winding. The temperature sensors are
connected in series with the contactor coil.
Electric cable
10 m (33 ft) of HO7RN-F or equivalent cable. If the cable is longer, the
voltage drop must be taken into account.

Applications
CAUTION!
The pump must not be run if it has been partially
dismantled.
The pumps conform to the EU machine directive. See rating plate.
The manufacturer guarantees that a new pump will not emit airborne noise
in excess of 70 dB(A) during normal operation, when either fully or partially
submerged.
DANGER!
The pump must not be used in an explosive or
flammable environment or for pumping flammable
liquids.
CAUTION!
Should a person come in contact with either the pump or
the pumped medium, for example on construction sites,
in agriculture etc, an earth leakage detector (ELCB) must
be used.
A safe distance of 20m should be maintained between the pump
and people.
The pump must not be used in swimming pools. Special regulations
apply for swimming pools.
Product description
The pump can be transported and stored either vertically or horizontally.
Make sure that it is securely lashed and cannot roll.
Handling
If the pump is stored for a longer period of time, protect it against dirt and
heat.
After a longer period of storage, the pump must be inspected and the
impeller must be rotated by hand before the pump is taken into operation.
Check the seals and cable entry particularly carefully.
CAUTION!
Always lift the pump by the lifting handle - never by the
motor cable or hose.
NOTE!
Always protect the cable end so that no moisture will penetrate
into the cable.
Water could otherwise seep into the terminal compartment or into
the motor through the cable.
CAUTION!
The pump must always rest on a firm surface so that it
will not overturn. This applies to all handling, transport,
testing and installation.
