OPERATION
Selecting the Operating Mode
Select the operating mode with the DIP switches
OPERATION MODE
:
•
Bridge mode
:
The input signal of channel A is additionally switched to channel 2. A
signal at channel 2 is ignored and volume adjustment is made with the
level control for channel 1.
•
Parallel
mode
:
The input signal of channel 1 is switched in parallel to channel 1 and
channel 2. A signal at channel 2 is ignored and volume adjustment is
made with the level controls for channel 1 and 2.
•
Stereo mode
:
Both channels are operated independent of each other.
Input Level Adjustment
With the DIP switches
INPUT SENSITIVITY
the input sensitivity of the amplifier can be matched to the output
level of the preceding unit.
• 0.775 V • 1 V • 32 dB
Switching On Soft Clipping
The integrated limiter reduces the input signal if a limit level at the output is reached. This will prevent
distortions and protect the connected speakers. The integrated soft clipping circuit gently limits the output of
the system and minimizes audible distortion. Peaks will be rounded instead of being cut off radically. The
LED
CLIP
lights up when the signal level is too high so that the level limitation will be activated. If the LED
lights up frequently, the level should be generally reduced a little. The limiter works up to a level of +22 dBu
(10 V), thus, the input level may not be increased unlimitedly. With the DIP switches
SOFT CLIPPING
it is
possible to switch on the soft clipping circuit for each channel individually:
•
Left position
:
soft clipping switched on
•
Right position
:
soft clipping switched off
Switching On/Off
To prevent loud switching noise, always switch on all other units of the amplifier system before switching on
the power amplifier. After operation, switch off the power amplifier first. Prior to switching on set both level
controls to the left stop position. Then switch on the amplifier with the power switch. The protection indicators
PROT
light up for about 10 seconds. If they do not, check if the amplifier is connected to the mains correctly.
After the turn-on delay the speakers are activated (protection indicators
PROT
are off). Afterwards the power
indicator
ON
lights up and indicates that the amplifier is switched on. In parallel mode the indicator
PARL
lights and in bridge mode the indicator
BRG
lights.
