GCPS High Current Power Supply
Once you have decided on the location and chosen the appropriate power cables, you are ready to
install the GCPS.
The GCPS has one AC power input and
one output.
Turn off the GCP-200 preamplifi er, remove
its power cable from the AC source you
are using to power the preamplifi
er.
You will not plug this power cable
back into the preamplifi er.
You may
consider using this power cable to power
the new GCPS if it is a high quality one.
We recommend turning all equipment in
the system off or to standby mode when
powering down the unit you wish to
power with the GCPS.
Insert the GCPS into the system by fi rst
connecting the GCPS connecting cable
between the GCPS output and the GCP-
200 (or other) High Current input. The connecting cable uses a connector known as a Nuetrik locking
connector. To use this connector, insert it into the female chassis receptacle, turn the male connector
clockwise until it clicks into place and is locked.
Make sure the master power switch on the rear of the GCPS is off. Plug the GCPS into the power
source using the AC power cable you
selected. It is advisable to use as short
a power cable as possible to the GCPS.
We do not recommend plugging the
GCPS into an extension strip or plug
extender unless it is of the highest quality
and heavy duty design, such as the PS
Audio Juice Bar or device with similar
properties.
Once the GCPS has been connected to
the power source, make sure that power
source is energized and providing AC
power to the GCPS.
If you are using an AC wall receptacle to
power the GCPS, make sure the AC receptacle is not a switched outlet. Switched outlets are those
outlets that can be turned on/off with the wall switch. It is advisable to leave the GCPS powered at
all times.
