3.2.6 TAILGATE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM

Tailgate hydraulic system is used to raise and lower the trailer tailgate and control the

operation of locking hooks (4).

The hydraulic system is supplied with oil from the tractor hydraulics. Through hydraulic

conduits (2) terminated with quick-couplers pressurised oil is fed to hydraulic cylinders (1),

which open or close the tailgate.

Tailgate is controlled from the cab through the hydraulic manifold valve lever on the tractor.

When raising the tailgate the locking hooks (4) unlock the tailgate, then cylinders raise it by

with two wings (5). When closing the tailgate, cylinders lower it and in the final stage locking

hooks (4) lock it securely.
