Mounting and installation / Commissioning
왘
Place the O-ring on the bracket of the lamp protection tube in the pertinent groove
왘
Insert the lamp into the lamp protection tube and let protrude for approx. 100mm
왘
Connect the connector to the lamp
NOTE
The connector can only be connected in certain positions. If necessary, turn the
connector by 90
°
and then try again.
왘
Insert the lamp fully into the lamp protection tube
왘
Mount the lamp cover on the bracket of the lamp protection tube using the knurled nut
(only tighten slightly)

Commissioning
WARNING
For applications with high disinfection demands (e.g. drinking water disinfection), the
downstream pipings are to be disinfected by e.g. high chlorination before commissioning!
This is in particular required in case of lines already contaminated by germs.
6.1
Leakage test and deaeration of the radiation chamber
왘
Open the bleed screw or bleed valve at the radiation chamber
왘
Slowly open the shut-off valve upstream of the radiation chamber
왘
Fill the radiation chamber until water flows from the bleed screw or bleed valve
왘
Close the bleed screw or bleed valve
왘
Check the radiation chamber for leakages
왘
Open the shut-off valve downstream of the radiation chamber (only required in case of
manual shut-off valve)
6.2
Switching on of disinfection system
IMPORTANT
Switch on the system only after having filled the radiation chamber with water!
Switching on
왘
Connect the mains plug
왘
To switch on the system, press START/STOP
for 2 seconds
After ignition of the UV lamp, it may take several minutes until the lamp has reached its
operating temperature and provides the full UV C output.
If the UV C sensor signal does not exceed the safety threshold within 5 minutes, the lamp is
deactivated. The system goes into error mode. In this case, proceed as follows:
왘
Press ENTER
for 2 seconds to acknowledge the fault
왘
Press START/STOP
for 2 seconds to reactivate the system
왘
Perform a preliminary calibration of the UV C sensor as described in 6.3 within 5 minutes
NOTE
If the error message (see 5.2.5) is suppressed, the lamp is not deactivated after expiry of 5
minutes given an UV C sensor signal smaller than the safety threshold. A calibration of the
UV C sensor is no longer possible after expiry of these 5 minutes.
WARNING
A preliminary calibration does not replace the final calibration of the UV C sensor with a
UV lamp which reached its operating temperature.
