• In order to ensure hygienic working conditions, the abrasive products must be disinfected after they
have been used.
• Information about suitable disinfectants as well as suitable products can be obtained from
Promed
;

Promed Pure ID
(art. no. 330810)
To disinfect surfaces and devices:
Promed Pure FD
(art. no. 330815)
To disinfect and clean instruments and abrasive products:

Before switching on the device, you must set the speed (rotation direction controller
(B)
) to zero.
A.
Connect the power adapter
(C)
to the socket.
B.
Choose a suitable abrasive product. Insert the abrasive product at the front of the handpiece into the
abrasive product fixture
(A)
. As soon as the abrasive product starts to rotate, the mechanism locks
automatically. Never remove or insert abrasive products by force! Abrasive products with a shaft
diameter of 2.332 mm to 2.350 mm fit precisely into the abrasive product fixture so that you do not
have to use excessive force. In order to remove an abrasive product, please switch off the device
using the rotation direction controller
(B)
(centre position). The rotation direction controller
(B)
must
noticeably click into place. Then remove the abrasive product by simply pulling it straight out.
C.
Controlling the direction of rotation and the speed:
1. Choosing the direction of rotation:
You make this choice by turning the rotation direction controller (
B
) to the left or to the right. To the
left: The device is operated in the anti-clockwise direction. To the right: The device s operated in the
clockwise direction.
2. Choosing the speed:
You control the speed by turning the rotation direction switch
(B)
to the left or to the right. The more
you turn the switch, the higher the speed.
Note:
To set the speed which is appropriate for you, we recommend you to proceed gradually; even low
speed offers sufficient power.
D.
Prior to the first application, it is absolutely necessary to have the handpiece run at approx. 8,000
rpm for approx. 30 minutes. This is necessary to grind in the carbon brushes of the motor.
Note:
Different running noise between clockwise and anti-clockwise direction is normal and caused by the
grinding in of the carbon brushes of the motor or by the running in of the ball bearings.
In the case of malfunctions:
• Check that the power supply is correct.
• Check whether the safety stop of the device has responded by setting the device with the rotation
direction controller
(B)
to zero (centre position) and restarting the device afterwards.
• If the problems cannot be solved with these measures, please contact your service centre.
