Disconnect the saw from the mains.
Insert the Allen key (5) into the hole in the blade housing (11),
and loosen the two screws (a) securing the blade (c) in the
blade holder (b).
Remove the blade from the holder, insert a replacement and
retighten the screws.
Pull the saw blade to check that it is correctly positioned
and locked in place.
Connect the saw to the mains.
Use
Adjusting the soleplate
The soleplate (9) can be adjusted 45° in relation to the saw
direction to facilitate contour sawing. Loosen the two screws
under the soleplate, adjust the plate to the desired angle
and retighten the screws.
Adjusting the pendulum regulator
The saw blade pendulum (counterweight) has three settings
which can be selected using the pendulum regulation knob
(10). The settings can be used to adjust cutting speed to the
type of material to be cut.
·
Use a low pendulum speed or switch the function off if a
very fine cut is required.
·
Switch the function off if working on very thin materials,
such as sheet metal.
·
Use a low setting if working on hard materials, such as
steel.
·
Use the maximum setting when working on soft materi-
als and when sawing with the grain.
Start, stop and speed control
Adjust the saw’s maximum speed by turning the speed
selector switch (1) to the desired position.
Start the machine by depressing the on/off button (3).
The blade will move up and down.
The saw can be kept running for long periods by pressing
the lock button (4). The lock button can be released by press-
ing the on/off button in as far as it will go.
Switch off by releasing the on/off button.
Using the laser unit
Switch the laser unit on and off using the laser on/off switch
(13) at the front of the saw. The unit will project a visible
laser beam over the item, to help you follow the cutting line.
The laser unit can be adjusted from side to side. If it is to be
adjusted to the left, loosen the left-hand adjustment screw
(14) slightly and tighten the right-hand one. Reverse the pro-
cedure if the unit is to be adjusted to the right.
General
Never use a blade unsuitable for the task and item to be
cut.
Hold the saw in front of you with a firm grip.
Ensure that the saw blade is not touching anything and that
the power cable is not in the way when starting the saw.
Make sure that the item is clamped tight, and that the cut-
ting line is clearly marked.
Connect the vacuum extractor nozzle (7) to an extractor sys-
tem where possible.
Start the saw. Place the soleplate on the item, and let the
saw blade touch the cutting line.
Saw, but do not place more pressure on the blade than is
necessary. Avoid lateral pressure on the blade.
Special notes on jig sawing
Place the soleplate on the item so the saw blade is vertical
and correctly positioned in relation to the cutting line with-
out touching it.
Start the saw and tilt it carefully while supporting it using
the soleplate until the blade touches the item at the cutting
line.
Let the blade work through the item, continuing to tip the
saw downwards until the sole is flush to the item and the
blade is perpendicular to it. If necessary, drill a hole of suit-
able diameter in the item for use as starting point.
Sawing wood
Check that the item does not contain nails or other metal
objects.
Sawing metal
We recommend lubricating the material and saw blade with
cutting oil to protect the tool and avoid overheating. Support
the item with wooden blocks on either side.
Sawing plastic
Never cut using maximum speed.
Make a test cut first to check if the material can tolerate the
heat generated by sawing.
Sawing masonry
Harmful dust can be caused by cutting certain materials.
Always wear a mask.
