the gear unit, only ever change the direction of
rotation when the device is at rest. When the slide
switch is in the middle position, the ON/OFF switch
is blocked.
The direction of rotation is only available for the
drill/screwdriver attachment. For the sander/grinder
attachment and the saw attachment, select forward.
6.2 Switch (1)
The ON/OFF switch provides you with infinitely
adjustable speed control. The further you press this
switch, the faster the speed of the attachment you
are using.
7. Using the drill/screwdriver
attachment (Fig. 1)
7.1 Setting the torque (Fig. 6)
The drill/screwdriver attachment comes with a 6-
level mechanical torque adjuster. The torque for
each screw size is set with the setting ring (8). The
torque is dependent on a number of factors:
●
on the type and hardness of the material involved;
●
on the type and length of the screw used;
●
on the requirements made of the screw
connection.
The grating disengagement of the coupling will
indicate when the selected torque level has been
reached.
Caution! Only ever adjust the setting ring when
the device is at rest.
7.2 Drilling
For all drilling work, set the setting ring for the torque
to the last level “Drill”. In the “Drill” level the slip
coupling is not operational and the maximum torque
is available during drilling.
7.3 Screwdriving work
It is advisable to use self-centering screws (e.g.
Torx, cross recessed head) as these will enable you
to work safely and reliably. Always make sure that
the bit used is of the same size and shape as the
screw. Set the torque in accordance with the screw
size as specified in the instructions.
8. Using the saw attachment (Fig. 1)
General rules for cutting speeds for metal cutting
work must be complied with here as well.
8.1 Changing the saw blade (Fir. 4)
Always switch off the device and take out the
rechargeable battery before you start any work on
the device or change the saw blade.
Unscrew the screws on the ram (a) using the Allen
key included in delivery. Slide the saw blade in the
guide groove between the lifting rod and retention
bar as far as the stop. Then tighten the screws with
the Allen key. The teeth on the saw blade must be
pointing in the direction of cutting. Check that the
saw blade is positioned in the guide groove of the
ram and the roller.
8.2 Using the saw (Fig. 1)
●
To use the saw attachment, press and hold the
safety lock-off (6) and press the switch (1).
9. Using the sander/grinder attachment
(Fig. 1)
●
Place the sanding/grinding paper on the
sanding/grinding disk and fix it in place by
pressing firmly with your hand.
●
The sanding/grinding disk comes with a Velcro
fastening system for sanding/grinding paper. This
permits new sanding/grinding paper to be
attached without a clamping device. Before you
attach a new piece of sanding/grinding paper,
knock out any dirt from the Velcro fastener and
clean with a brush or, if necessary, with
compressed air.
Tips on sanding/grinding
This device offers particularly high performance for
the sanding/grinding of hard-to-reach corners and
edges. To sand/grind profiles and channels you can
also work with just the tip or the edge of the
sanding/grinding disk. Various sanding/grinding
papers are available, specially designed for the
different types of material you may be working on
and the amount you wish to remove from the
surface. The amount removed will depend largely on
the choice of sanding/grinding paper and pressure
applied to the sanding/grinding disk.
