TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem(s) Possible Cause(s) Suggested Solution(s)
Motor will not start, or stop suddenly.
No incoming power.
Check plug connection.
Current overload Release the trigger, then re-squeeze it again
Defective motor, switch, power cable, or plug.
Qualified electrician/service personnel should
inspect these items.
Overload trips frequently.
Motor is overheating. Check that motor air intakes are clear and run
without load for a short period.
Down-feed pressure is too fast. Reduce down-feed pressure.
Motor is faulty.
Motor should be inspected by qualified
electrician/service personnel.
Band Saw vibrates excessively.
Stand is on uneven surface. Adjust stand for even support.
Saw blade has cracks. Replace blade immediately.
Too heavy a cut. Reduce down-feed pressure and blade speed.
Miter cuts not accurate.
Setting of the miter stops is not correct.
Adjust the stops to correct positions. Use an
adjustable square or protractor to
check angle settings.
Blade guides not set correctly. Adjust outer bearings to contact
the blade lightly
Cuts not square
Down-feed pressure too great. Decrease down-feed pressure.
90° angle stop is not set correctly.
Adjust outer bearings to contact the
blade lightly
Incorrect blade selection in relation
to work-piece.

Adjust outer bearings to contact the

Work-piece incorrectly positioned in vise. Check positioning and clamping in the vise.
Poor blade tension. Increase blade tension.
Finished surface of work-piece is
rough, unsatisfactory.
Blade is dull, or its parameters are not right for
the thickness of the work piece being cut.
