The N of hdN differs depending on the device assigned to the DVD-ROM drive.
To check what device has been assigned, execute the following command.
In the following example, because the hda is assigned, it is edited to hda=ide-scsi.

If this product is not operating correctly check the following. This product may not
be the only factor involved. Also check the other devices combined to make up

Is the disk upside down? Check the side of the disk.
Is the disk dirty? Wipe the disk.
Is the disk scratched or
bent? Replace the disk.
Is this product securely
attached to the server? Attach this product securely
again.
