Understanding Normal Operating Sounds
•
Bubbling or gurgling sounds and slight vibrations are the result
of the refrigerant circulating through the cooling coils.
• Sizzling or popping sounds occur during the automatic defrost
cycle.
• Dripping sounds occur as ice melts from the evaporator and
flows into the water collection tray during the automatic defrost
cycle.
• Cracking or popping sounds are caused by the expanding
and/or contracting of the cooling coils during the automatic
defrost cycle.
Cleaning and General Maintenance
General Interior and Exterior Cabinet Cleaning
1. Prepare a cleaning solution of 3-4 tablespoons of
baking soda mixed with warm water. Use a sponge or
soft cloth dampened with the cleaning solution to wipe
down the interior and exterior surfaces of the cabinet.
2. Rinse with clean, warm water and dry with a soft cloth.
Note:
Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasives, ammonia,
chlorine bleach, concentrated detergents, solvents or metal
scouring pads. Some of these products may dissolve, damage
and/or discolor the cabinet finish.
Door Gasket Cleaning
1. Clean the door gasket with a damp cloth every three
months. The gasket must be kept clean and pliable to
ensure a proper seal.
2. Petroleum jelly applied lightly to the hinge side of the
gaskets will keep the gasket pliable and ensure a good
seal.
LEVELING
The refrigerator must have all bottom corners resting firmly on
solid floor. The floor must be strong enough to support a fully
loaded refrigerator.
NOTE: It is Very Important for your refrigerator to be level in
order to function properly.
To Level Your Refrigerator:
After discarding crating screws and wood base, use a
carpenter’s level to level the refrigerator from front-to-back.
Temperature Control
The temperature is controlled by adjusting the temperature
control Knob.
Larger numbers indicate lower temperatures, smaller
numbers indicate higher temperatures.
The OFF position will cause the compressor to stop.
During winter months the ambient temperatures are lower
and may cause excessive cooling inside the refrigerator.
To prevent this, the temperature setting knob should be set
between 4~6.
During the summer when the ambient temperatures are
higher, the temperature setting knob should be set between
3~1.
First Use
When operating the refrigerator for the first time, allow it to
empty (without any food) until it autos tops at the desired
temperature –t his usually takes 2 or 3hours – then set the
thermostatic dial to the desired setting and load the
refrigerator.
Defrosting
Defrost the freezer compartment whenever the layer of
frost on the surface of the evaporator reaches 3 or 4 mm.
When defrosting remove all food and ice cube trays. Set
the thermostat at the “OFF” position. Put the drip tray
under the evaporator to collect melted
water. After the
frost has melted, discard the melted water and dry the
interior of the refrigerator. The refrigerator can then be
restarted by turning its thermostat to the desired setting.
