Dress properly. W ear heavy long pant s, boot s and
g loves. Do not w ear loose clot hing , short p ant s,
and jew elry of any kind . Secure long hair so it is
above shoulder level. Keep your hair, clot hing and
g lo ves aw ay f ro m m o ving p art s. Lo o se clo t hes,
jew elry or long hair can be caught in m oving part s.
Check your m achine before st art ing it . Keep guards
in p lace and in w orking ord er. Make sure all nut s,
b o lt s, et c. are securely t ig ht ened , in p art icular
t hose fixing t he im p lem ent t o t he m achine.
Never op erat e t he m achine w hen it is in need of
rep air or is in p oor m echanical cond it ion. Rep lace
d am ag ed , m issing or failed p art s b efore using it .
Check f o r f uel leaks. Keep t he m achine in saf e
w orking cond it ion.
Do not use t he m achine if t he engine’s sw it ch does
not t urn it on or off. A ny gasoline pow ered m achine
t hat can not b e cont rolled w it h t he eng ine sw it ch
is d ang erous and m ust b e rep laced .
Fo rm a hab it o f checking t o see t hat key s and
ad just ing w renches are rem o v ed f ro m m achine
area b efore st art ing it . A w rench or a key t hat is

w ell-vent ilat ed out d oor. Do not sm oke, or allow
sp arks, op en flam es or ot her sources of ig nit ion
near t he area w hile ad d ing fuel or op erat ing t he
unit .
Keep grounded conduct ive object s, such as t ools,
aw ay f r o m ex p o sed , liv e elec t r ic al p ar t s an d
co nnect io ns t o av o id sp arking o r arcing . These
event s could ig nit e fum es or vap ors.
A lw ays st op t he engine and allow it t o cool before
filling t he fuel t ank. Never rem ove t he cap of t he
fuel t ank or ad d fuel w hile t he eng ine is running
