To install a CPU in the PL-K6-III upgrade adapter:

1. Align the CPU with the adapter so that pin 1 occupies the corner of the

adapter diagonally opposite the adapter’s fan power cable. The pin 1 corner of
a CPU is usually indicated by a dot and/or beveled edge.

You must install the CPU so that its pin 1 corner corresponds
to the pin 1 corner of the adapter (which is diagonally
opposite the adapter’s fan power cable).

2. Firmly press the CPU into the adapter socket. The CPU should be pushed

into the socket far enough so that there is no gap between the CPU and the
socket (the CPU pins should not be visible).
