Unintentional sparking can cause fire or electrical shock.
Failure to observe this warning can cause severe
property damage, severe burns and even death.
Disconnect spark plug wire from spark plug and cover tip of spark plug wire
with insulating tape and place wire where it cannot come in contact with
spark plug or generator frame.
Other Storage Tips
1.
DO NOT
store petrol from one season to another unless it’s been treated with
fuel stabilizer.
2. Replace petrol container, if metal, and it begins to rust. Rust and dirt and debris can
contaminate petrol supply and components resulting in poor performance and/or internal
damage to engine. petrol should be stored in newer approved plastic storage containers.
GENERATOR
1. Cover generator with a suitable cover that does not retain moisture such as a
plastic or plastic coated tarp.
2. Store generator in a clean, dry area.
Certain storage covers can be flammable or can
melt in higher temperatures.
Do not place storage cover over
generator unit until it has completely cooled.
PREPARING FOR USE AFTER STORAGE
1. Switch the on/off switch to the OFF position, slowly pull the Starter cord a few
times to clean oil from the cylinder which was added prior to storage.
2. Remove the spark plug from the cylinder. Wipe oil from the spark plug and return
it to the cylinder and retighten.
3. Reconnect the spark plug wire.
Engine components should be kept clean reducing risk of overheating and ignition
of accumulated debris.
•
Use a damp cloth to wipe exterior surfaces clean.
•
Use a soft bristle brush to loosen caked on dirt or oil.
•
Use a shop-vacuum to pick up any loose dirt and debris.
Do not use water or other liquids to clean generator.
Cleaning fluids can enter petrol system resulting in poor performance.
Additionally, if fluids enter generator through cooling air slots, portions of the
fluid can be retained in voids and cracks of the rotor and stator winding
insulation. Over time, liquid and dirt buildup on internal windings will decrease
insulation resistance on windings decreasing performance of generator.
STORAGE
Petrol and petrol vapor are extremely
flammable and explosive. Fire or explosion from misuse of
petrol can cause severe burns and even death.
TO PROTECT AGAINST RUST FORMATION DURING STORAGE, OIL THE
CYLINDER BORE:
•
Switch the on/off switch to the OFF position, remove spark plug and pour
approximately 15 ml of clean engine oilinto the cylinder.
•
Install spark plug and pull starter handle slowly to distribute oil.
DO NOT
start
engine at this time.
•
Slowly pull the recoil starter 2 to 3 times to distribute and coat the cylinder bore
with oil.
