4. If replacing and old jack, remove the old jack from the coupler, saving the
washers and bolts.
5. Remove the lock pin (#1) and remove the footpad (#2) from the jack.
6. Remove the paint from around one of the jack’s bolt holes and the matching
bolt hole on the trailer tongue. A flat or star washer can be included to
improve contact between the exposed metal of both jack and trailer.
7. Insert the outer tube (#5) into the A-frame jack opening until the mounting
plate (#4) rests on the trailer tongue. The motor (#14) faces the front of the
trailer. Align the mounting plate’s bolt holes with those on the trailer tongue.
8. Secure the jack. Slide a star washer onto each bolt and insert through the
top into the bolt holes. Twist on the nuts until hand-tight. Finish tightening
to a torque of 15 to 20 ft-lb.
9. Reinsert the food pad and insert the lock pin.
WIRING THE ELECTRIC JACK
WARNING! All wiring should be performed by a qualified electrician.
The jack’s electric motor can be powered by either a trailer battery or the towing
vehicle’s battery.
ATTACHING TO A TRAILER BATTERY
1. Disconnect the trailer battery’s ground cable.
2. Connect the jack’s black wire lead to the fuse wire (#19).
3. The other end of the fuse wire connects to the positive (+) battery terminal.
4. Reattach the ground cable.
5. Test the trailer jack to ensure it works, before removing the trailer
tongue support.
ATTACHING TO A VEHICLE BATTERY
1. Run a 10-gauge wire from the 12VDC battery to the jack. Ensure the wire is
secure at various points. Do not connect the wire to the battery yet.
2. Disassemble an electrical quick connector (not included). Install the female
component to the end of the wire that will connect to the jack.
3. Connect the female component to the fuse wire’s male component (#19).
