DANGER! Do not exceed the winching weight capacity (see Specifications).
1.
Start with the clamp-clevis parallel with the steel bar (#3).
2. Connect a tow chain/rope to the object to be winched and another to a
stationary object that will be the anchor. Attach a shackle or tow strap to
the end of each tow chain/rope.
3.
Use a tree strap to prevent damage to a tree used as an anchor.
4.
Attach one shackle or tow strap to the clamp-clevis.
5.
Attach the other shackle or tow strap to the saddle of the large runner.
6. Take up any slack before beginning to winch.
7.
Lift the reversing latch to the UP position and ensure it is locked in place,
with the indentation in the latch firmly engaged in the tooth on the
reversing switch
8. Pull down firmly and evenly on the handle to move the large runner
forward until the object has moved to the desired position or further
advancement is not possible.
9. Introduce slack into the line so the Farm Jack can be lowered to the
ground. Remove the shackles and tow chain/ropes.
10. If unable to introduce slack, Release the reversing latch, so that it is in the
DOWN position and try to move the large runner by hand. Hold the jack
firmly as it is heavy and may drop when tension is released.
11. Repeat steps 6 to 10 if the winching job is not complete.
