INTRODUCTION
This Spark Plug Kit is for both the 2,200 and 3,000 Watt Inverter Generator (SKU
8530875 and 8530891). Consult the User’s Manual for the generators before
installation and follow all safety instructions in that manual.
SAFETY
WARNING! Read and understand all instructions before using this tool. The
operator must follow basic precautions to reduce the risk of personal injury
and/or damage to the equipment.
1. Operate in a safe work environment. Keep your work area clean, well lit and free
of distractions.
2. Always wear impact safety goggles that provide front and side protection for
the eyes.
3. Wear protective clothing designed for the work environment and tool.
ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION
IMPORTANT! Remove all fuel from the fuel tank and engine before performing
the maintenance tasks.
Tools and components required for replacement:
• Spark Plug
• Phillips Screw Driver
• Spark Plug Socket
• Torque Wrench and Spark Plug Socket
1. Remove the screw holding the spark plug cover in place (Fig. 1). Set cover aside.
2. Carefully remove the spark plug cap. Apply gentle steady force to avoid banging
your hand on the housing (Fig. 2).
3. Fit the included socket over the spark plug. Insert a screwdriver through the
holes on both sides and push up to loosen the spark plug (Fig. 3). Repeat until
loose enough to remove by hand. Be careful to prevent the socket or spark plug
from falling into the housing.
4. Replace the spark plug and tighten by hand (Fig. 4). Tighten with a torque
wrench with a setting of 7.4 to 10.3 ft-lb (10 to 14 N-m).
5. Push the spark plug cap back onto the spark plug until seated (Fig. 2).
6. Put the spark plug access cover in place and tighten the screw (Fig 1).
DISPOSAL
Recycle the components replaced during maintenance.
