OPERATION

Warning: It should never be necessary to force the tool the weight of the tool applies
adequate pressure. Forcing and excessive pressure could cause dangerous wheel
breakage.

1.  To prepare your grinder, first disconnect the plug from the electrical supply.
2.  Fit the appropriate disc to the grinder
3.  To switch the grinder on, plug the tool into its power source and press the switch marked “I”.

 Allow the

grinder to run for a minute before use.

4.  Do not cover exhaust vents when the tool is in use.

This may cause damage to the motor and reduce the

efficiency of the tool.

5.  For the best work results hold the grinder at a 10-15° angle to the work piece.
6.  Use the handle to help steady tool and guide back and forth over the work piece in a steady motion.
7.  When cutting avoid tilting the tool in the cutting plane.

Ensure the cutting wheel has a clean cutting edge.

8.  To cut hard stone a diamond cutting wheel is recommended.
9.  Do not use a cutting wheel for rough grinding.
10.  After you are finished using the tool, turn it off.

The disc will continue spinning for a short amount of time.

Do no put the tool down until it has completely stopped moving.

11.  If any of the following events occur during normal operation, the tool should be shut off at once and

thoroughly inspected by a qualified person and repaired if necessary.

•  The turning parts get stuck or speed drops abnormally low;
•  The tool shakes abnormally, accompanied by unusual noise;
•  The motor housing gets hot and/or an odor is present;
•  Heavy sparks occur around the motor area.

12.  Always replace wheel if tool is dropped while grinding.
13.  Never bang or hit grinding disc or wheel onto work.
14.  Avoid bouncing and snagging the wheel, especially when working corners, sharp edges etc.

 This can

cause loss of control and kickback.

Note:

After operation, always switch off the tool and wait until the wheel has come to a complete stop before
putting the tool down.

GRINDING AND SANDING OPERATION

1.  Always hold the tool firmly with one hand on housing and the other on the handle.

 Turn the tool on and

then apply the wheel or disc to the work piece.

2.  In general, keep the edge of the wheel or disc at an angle of about 15 degrees to the work piece

surface.

3.  During the break-in period with a new wheel, do not work the grinder in the reverse direction or it will

cut into the work piece.

Once the edge of the wheel has become rounded off by use, the wheel may be

worked in both forward and reverse direction.

4.  Never use cut-off wheels for side grinding
5.  During cutting operations, never change the angle of the wheel.

Placing side pressure on the cut-off

wheel (as in grinding) will cause the wheel to crack and break, causing serious personal injury.

INSPECTION

1.  The stator (motor) is the heart of the power tool.

Exercise due care to ensure it does not become

damaged by oil or water. If you hear the stator making unusual noises or if you notice smoke or sparks
coming out of the stator, do not use the tool until you have found what the problem is. Contact Princess Auto
at 1-800-665-8685.

2.  Inspect the carbon brushes regularly and replace them when they are worn up to about one third.
3.  Regularly inspect all mountings and screws and ensure they are properly tightened.

 Should any of the

screws be loose, tighten them immediately. Failure to do so may result in serious damage.

4.   Inspect the grinding wheel.

Ensure that the grinding wheel is free of cracks and surface defects. Replace

the grinding wheel when it becomes worn.
