9. Always position the cord so that it will not be caught in the workpiece when the grinder is in use.
Position the tool so that the power cord always stays behind the machine during operation. Keep the
power cord away from the work area during use.
SPECIFIC SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING! Damage to the disc is possible even if the safety instructions are observed.
ALWAYS USE THE WHEEL GUARD even if you are going to use the machine for a short
period of time.
1. When the machine is in operation, keep your hands away from the cutting or grinding area and
from the tool's rotating parts.
2. The disc will not stop immediately when the machine is turned off. Do not place the tool down until
the grinding or cutting wheel has come to complete stop.
3. Do not start the tool when the grinding or cutting wheel is touching the work area.
4. Always ensure the safety guard is attached correctly. Do not operate the angle grinder without the
guard attached.
5. Only use grinding and cutting wheels that are approved for a maximum speed of 11,000 RPM or
greater. When using grinding wheels, be sure to use only fiberglass-reinforced wheels.
7. Before connecting the tool to the power supply follow the safety instructions to install the grinding
or cutting wheels. Do not lock it too tight, otherwise cracks may occur.
8. Always use both hands when operating the tool. Always hold the tool firmly with one hand on housing
and the other on the side handle. Turn the tool on and then apply the wheel or disc to the work-piece.
9. Do not install more than one disc at a time.
10. During long work periods do not allow the motor to overload and/or overheat, take work breaks.
11. Cutting discs must not be subjected to any latteral pressure.
12. Check the wheel carefully for cracks or damage before operation. Replace the cracked or damaged
wheel immediately.
13. Before using the tool on an actual work piece, make a test run of the tool at the highest no-load
speed for at least 30 seconds in a safe position. Stop immediately if there is any vibration or wobbling
that could indicate poor installation or a poorly balanced wheel. Check the tool to determine the cause.
14. Do not touch the work piece immediately after operation; it may be extremely hot and could burn
your skin.
15. A large amount of sparks will be created when working with angle grinder. Hold the tool so that
sparks fly away from you and other persons or flammable materials. Keep up to date fire-prevention
safety instructions in the event of a fire.
16. Do not use the tool on any materials containing asbestos.
17. This power tool is intended to function as a grinder, sander, wire brush, polisher or cut-off tool.
Operations such as grinding, sanding, wire brushing, polishing or cutting-off are not recommended to
be performed with this power tool. Operations for which the power tool was not designed may create a
hazard and cause personal injury.
19. Do not use accessories which are not specifically designed and recommended by the tool
manufacturer. Just because the accessory can be attached to your power tool, it does not assure safe
operation.
21. The outside diameter and the thickness of your accessory must be within the capacity rating of
your power tool. Incorrectly sized accessories cannot be adequately guarded or controlled.
22. Only use grinding or cutting wheels, flanges, backing pads or any other accessory that will
correctly fit the power tool. Accessories with arbour holes that do not match the mounting hardware of
the power tool will run out of balance, vibrate excessively and may cause loss of control.
23. Do not use damaged accessories. Before each use inspect the accessories for chips, cracks, tears
or excess wear or cracked wires. If a tool or accessory is dropped, inspect for damage or install before
resuming use. After inspecting and installing an accessory, position yourself and bystanders away from
the plane of the rotating accessory and run the power tool at maximum no-load speed for one minute.
Damaged accessories will normally break apart during this test time.
24. Hold the tool by insulated gripping surfaces when performing an operation where the cutting
accessory may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Cutting accessory contacting a “live” wire may
make exposed metal parts of the power tool “live” and shock the operator.
25. Position the cord clear of the spinning accessory. If you lose control, the cord may be cut or snagged
and your hand or arm may be pulled into the spinning accessory.
27. Do not run the power tool while carrying it at your side. Accidental contact with the spinning
accessory could snag your clothing, pulling the accessory into your body.
28. Regularly clean the power tool’s air vents. The motor’s fan will draw the dust inside the housing and
excessive accumulation of powdered metal may cause electrical hazards.
