• Do not grind or sand near flammable materials, as they could be
ignited with sparks from the wheel.
• When sanding, do not use oversized sanding discs. Larger sanding
pads can cause snagging or tearing of the disc, or recoil of the
tool. Extra paper extending beyond the sanding pad can also cause
serious lacerations.
• When sanding chemically pressure treated lumber, paint that may
be lead based, or any other materials that may contain
carcinogens, use special precautions. A suitable breathing
respirator must be worn by all personnel entering the work area.
Work area should be sealed by plastic sheeting and persons not
protected should be kept out until work area is thoroughly
cleaned.
Double Insulated Tools
• Double insulation is a design concept used in electric power tools
which eliminates the need for the 3 wire grounded power cord and
grounded power supply system.
Important:
Servicing of a tool with double insulation requires care
and knowledge of the system and should be performed
only by a qualified service technician. When servicing,
use ONLY identical replacement parts.
Extension Cords
• Replace damaged cords immediately. Use of damaged cords can
shock, burn or electrocute.
• If an extension cord is necessary a cord with adequate size
conductors should be used to prevent excessive voltage drop, loss
of power, or overheating on cord length and nameplate amperage
rating of tool. If in doubt, use the next heavier gauge size.
