Special safety regulations
Petrol and oil
•
The machine is supplied with no oil in the
engine. Remember to fill with engine oil
before use!
•
Use unleaded petrol only. You should therefore
never put leaded petrol, diesel or other fuels in
the tank.
•
Never fill fuel tank to top. Engine heat can
cause the fuel to expand and run over, causing
a risk of fire.
•
Wipe off any spilt petrol with a dry rag after
fuelling.
•
Smoking and the use of naked flame during
fuelling is forbidden.
•
Never fill up with fuel or engine oil when the
engine is running. Never remove filler cap
while engine is running.
•
Keep fuel and oil out of the reach of children
in safe, approved containers.
•
Dispose of used oil (and petrol from emptying
tank before summer storage) in accordance
with local regulations.
Starting the engine
•
Store inflammable materials at a safe distance
(at least 10 metres) from the engine as exhaust
gases are very hot.
•
Never start the machine indoors, e.g. in
garage or shed. Exhaust gases contain carbon
monoxide and hydrocarbons that are highly
dangerous to humans and animals if inhaled.
•
Never start the machine without the air filter.
•
Avoid touching engine components during or
immediately after use. They may be very hot.
•
Always follow all maintenance instructions for
the engine.
•
Always stop the engine and remove the spark
plug cover before making adjustments, and
before placing hands, feet or other objects
near moving parts.
•
Stop engine before leaving the machine.
Use
•
Check the area to be cleared and remove any
objects that may come into contact with the
worm driver or impeller.
•
Wear non-slip shoes and be extra careful using
the machine on slippery surfaces.
•
Wear safety goggles to protect your eyes from
flying objects.
•
Do not attempt to clear snow which is too
deep (see Technical Data). Do not go tto fast.
•
Never direct the discharge chute at people,
animals, cars or buildings. Be aware of other
peope, animals and vehicles approaching the
machine when in use.
•
Always keep an eye on where snow is ejected,
and adjust chute angle as required during use.
•
Avoid picking up stones, soil and gravel that
could be discharged with the snow. Be careful
when using on other surfaces than asphalt and
slabs.
•
Never use on roofs, walls and other places
above ground level!
•
Stop engine immediately in the event of
serious vibration, if the worm drive hits any
foreign objects or if anything becomes stuck
in the drive or chute. Remove spark plug
cover and resolve problem before re-starting.
•
Always use a stick to remove stuck objects
from the worm drive and chute - never use
fingers.
•
Never run the machine across slopes, as it can
tip over. Always work up and down slopes.
•
Do not run the machine on slopes with an
incline over 20 percent.
