6. Battery Replacement Procedure
Replacement of the battery will be necessary after its rated service life has
expired. Its rated service life is at least four years. It is to be replaced by a
Sonnenschein 12V/1.2 Ah A212/1.2S unit or equivalent.
1. Remove the retaining clamp holding the battery in place.
For the location of the retaining clamp, refer to Figure 2.
2. Disconnect the battery and dispose of it in a government approved waste
site.
Caution
The batteries contain toxic lead and corrosive acid, and as they are
user-replaceable, should only be disposed of in government approved waste
sites.
3. Position a new battery in place and refasten the retaining clamp. Reconnect
the leads (red to “+”, black to “-”).
4. Close and secure the cover.
