PROBLEM

POSSIBLE CAUSES

POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS

Sharpener will not start

Cord not connected 

Check that cord is plugged in.

No power at outlet

Check power at outlet. If 
outlet is unpowered, turn off 
sharpener and check circuit 
breaker. If breaker is tripped, 
make sure circuit is right 
capacity for sharpener and 
circuit has no other loads

Internal damage or wear. 
(Carbon brushes or switch, for 
example.)

Have technician service 
sharpener

Sharpener operates 
slowly

Extension lead if used too long 
or wire size too small

Eliminate use of extension lead. 
If an extension lead is needed, 
use one with the proper 
diameter for its length and load
