5. DRY IRONING
5.1 Make sure that chapter 1 has been comple-
ted, press the reduce steam button “-” until all
the indicator lights are off.
By doing this, the boiler goes off and only the
iron stays on.
Regulate the temperature of the iron (8)-(9)
as described in chapter 2.
6. ECO FUNCTION
Thanks to the ECO function, Vaporella auto-
matically sets the steam pressure for a consi-
derable energy saving, while keeping an opti-
mum performance for ironing even all the
most resistant fabrics (cotton/jeans/linen)
To activate or deactivate the ECO function, ju-
st press the ECO switch again (12). The ECO
function light will indicate whether the func-
tion is activated (light on) or deactivated (li-
ght off).
If the indicator light ECO flashes, it means
that the appliance is in heating mode.
When optimum pressure is reached, the indi-
cator light stays lit.
7. STAND-BY FUNCTION
Energy saving
If the appliance is not used for 10 minutes
(calculated from the last time key 10 was
pressed), it automatically goes into stand-by
mode. Both the boiler and iron are switched
off.
The indicator light ON flashes and a buzzer
sounds.
To re-activate the appliance, press the in-
crease steam button “+”.
8. OUT OF WATER
The lack of water in the tank is indicated by
the flashing of the indicator light (13) and the
buzzer.
To restart operations just fill the water tank
again as described in the chapter 1.
9. GENERAL MAINTENANCE
Before carrying out any maintenance on the
device, always unplug it from the power
mains making sure that the product has coo-
led down before proceeding.
To clean the outside of the appliance, only use
a damp cloth.
Do not use detergents of any type.
For good maintenance of the boiler we sug-
gest using Kalstop, the special natural-base li-
mescale, distributed by Polti, and available for
sale at all major domestic-appliance stores or
online at www.polti.com.
Clean the iron soleplate when it is completely
cold with a damp cloth or with a non-abrasive
sponge.
10. CLEANING THE BOILER
(extraordinary maintenance)
To maintain optimum performance, clean the
boiler every 10/20 uses depending on the
amount of limestone in the water.
10.1 Unplug the appliance and let it cool down
for 2 hours at least, if it is hot.
10.2 Empty the water tank to prevent leakage.
10.3 Turn the appliance upside down and lift
WARNING: Risk of scalding! When acces-
sing the boiler (removing the cap, filling up,
emptying), ensure that the appliance is swit-
ched off at the power switch and disconnec-
ted from the mains for at least two hours.
WARNING: Steam.
Risk of scalding!
WARNING:
This operation must always be
done after having disconnected the applian-
ce from the mains.
The indicator lights “Iron heating” and “Steam
ready” turn on and off during use. This indica-
tes that the electrical resistor has started to
work to keep the pressure of the boiler
steady. This is a normal occurrence, and it is
therefore possible to continue ironing.
When first using the steam, there may be so-
me drops of water leaking out of the plate,
this is due to imperfect thermal stabilization.
We therefore recommend that the first jet of
steam be directed onto a cloth (clean rag).
ATTENTION: Do not use this mode to iron
synthetic, silk or wool clothing since these
materials require a lower steam pressure.
In this mode, by not pressing the continuous
steam button 10, the appliance goes into
stand-by after 10 minutes. To exit stand-by
follow the instructions listed in the chapter 7.
