Using Overlays
How Overlays Work
Overlays are files, created in any Windows application or
in
ibid
, that are placed onto an
ibid
snapshot. You can
use overlays:
•
As grids or patterns for repeated use (such as bar
charts)
•
As forms
•
For headers or footers (for example, to incorpo-
rate logos)
Using overlays saves time when you create similar
images or want to add the same image to multiple snap-
shots. Overlays can be reused, even after the whiteboard
is erased. You can remove an overlay, and only one over-
lay can be used at a time.
Overlay files can be in any of the formats supported by
ibid
(bitmap, Windows metafile, JPEG or TIFF).
Creating an Overlay
You can create an overlay in
ibid
or in any application
that can generate the following formats:
•
Bitmap (.bmp)
•
Windows metafile (.wmf)
•
JPEG (.jpg)
•
TIFF (.tif)

creates overlays only in Windows metafile
format.
In
ibid
, you create an overlay file from a snapshot or the
current board.
