PVT INNER COVER DISASSEMBLY

Necessary Preliminary Tasks

1. Loosen the intake duct clamps

. Remove the

breather hose from the intake duct and remove the
intake duct.

2. Remove the airbox cover. Leave air filter and inner

airbox cover installed.

3. Loosen the clamp retaining the inner cover intake

duct.

4. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Belt Removal, page

5.6.

5. Use a 3/8 inch 6 inch extension

as shown to hold

the driven clutch. Remove the driven clutch bolt

belleville washer

, and washers

6. Remove the Driven Clutch.

7. Install the Drive Clutch Holding Tool on the Drive

Clutch.

8. Remove the Drive Clutch retaining bolt

using a

Torx T-60 internal driver.

9. Remove the Movable Sheave assembly.

NOTE

The stationary sheave of the drive clutch can remain in

the vehicle if not being serviced. Use a rocking motion

while pulling on the movable sheave by hand to slide

the spider and movable sheave off the stationary post.

If you are unable to remove the movable sheave by

hand, remove the six cover bolts, drive spring, outer

post, and washers. Use a three-jaw puller to remove

the spider. The Drive Clutch puller will not be needed if

the Stationary Sheave is not being serviced. If removing

the Stationary Sheave is necessary, the Drive Clutch

puller will need to be used. Remove the outer slip fit

post in order to insert the Drive Clutch holding tool.
